Information about the University

V. O. Sukhomlynskyi Mykolaiv National University is a higher educational establishment of IV accreditation level. It was founded in 1913 as a teacher’s institute, passed the further way from the pedagogical institute to the university, and gained the status of national in 2010.

The Rector of the University is Valerii Dmytrovych Budak, Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

The University consists of four faculties and a college. The teaching and educational process is carried out by 16 departments.

The University provides training of junior specialists, bachelors, masters, researchers, as well as professional development of scientific and pedagogical staff.

The University has the department of internships and employment. The number of contracts on internships with further employment of graduates constantly increases. The proportion of practical training in the educational process is growing.

V. O. Sukhomlynskyi Mykolaiv National University has three easily accessible dormitories for 1640 students with all modern facilities. Our students have a great opportunity to attend a sport club in one of the dormitories. The University has a well-developed infrastructure: sports grounds, gyms, libraries, canteens and the Cultural Center ‘Aesthetics’. There is a recreation camp “Moriana” on the Black Sea coast (70 seats).
